Call them pocket catchers/halters/leads or could even just be a leash. Small diameter yacht rope with a 1 1/8" brass  ring on one end, leather popper on the other end. Good for quickly catching horses in a pasture especially those that run from a halter (aka. my red mare.  These available in assorted colors, you can request a particular but I can't guarantee it.
